Cooler Temps and a Change of Scenery

This vacation was not what we planned. We had a year ago set up a trip to Oregon, where we would stay in one of our timeshare resorts, be with family, and be RIGHT next to the ocean. This did not happen....why you might ask? well Herbie's bosses did not let him have the time off...my confusion lies in the words "UNPAID LEAVE" but that story is for another day. So instead of the week he wanted they gave him the week before...still confusion on my part but that is there alot! :D My mom paid for four days in wonderful Monterey, CA. It was wonderful because

1. its near the ocean
2. its miles from home
3. it does not have smoky air (which our area had until we came back yay!)
4. its near the ocean!

Here are some pictures from our mini-vacation, but believe me they will not do this to us for next year....

I have not been to the Monterey Aquarium in YEARS i don't remember alot of it but it was sure fun to see it all again.

We were near the "Kelp Reef" and it was feeding time. Well Logan could care less for the fish it was more all the people he could touch, smile at, or talk to that he loved.

Grandma was showing Logan all the fish that were in the area. Some of them were HUGE!

We took him out of his stroller so that he could "walk" around and when we got this this rock part he could care less about the fish or the tiger shark. An older volunteer gentleman was watching him and was amazed at how much fun logan was having.

Im so glad that Herbie got this picture because Logan loves doing different things with his binkie and this is one of them. (He's teething so anything plastic is his for the chewing)

We walked outside where it was a NICE temperature and decided to get some pictures. Logan loved looking at all the kelp in the ocean but we definitely kept him away from the edge...because if he sees something he likes he WILL go for it...

Oh the penguins! It must have been feeding time because they were all at the window! Logan LOVED them!!!He was screeching right along with them.

After the Aquarium Logan passed out for a little while and so we decided to drive around and check out the quaint houses along the ocean drive. When we got to the beach logan was up and ready to go.

Although he seemed to like watching the waves, the coldness of the water deterred him. He did NOT like it at all but he did like when Herbie made him run away from the approaching wave.

After the ocean experience was short lived we came back on the beach and played in the sand. I covered his feet and wanted to get a lasting shot of his little chubber feet since he is getting bigger by the day.

He loved the sand but didn't really know what to do with it. So some went into his mouth before the binky went back in.

When my mom was going to take pictures of us i told her that this is the picture i REALLY wanted. why? well there is a picture of my dad holding my brother's hand and holding me as he was walking down to the ocean, when we were young and i have always loved it. I wanted a memory like that for us. Its such a wonderful picture. It will be on the wall and as our family grows it will change too..(and no this isn't an insert that we are expecting....

I had to take a picture of my mom with Logan as she is the reason we were able to be here in the first place... :D

On Sunday we decided that we were going to just stay in and watch movies and relax...and that's just what we did.

We stopped at the Tracy outlets to both buy clothes (for logan) and stretch our legs. Can you believe he's going to be 10 months in 3 days??? good gracious....

Happy 4th of July!!

With the way I love to take pictures we decided to get matching t-shirts (the "we" in that sentence would be me). They were matching with at least the emblem. I decided to take pictures outside of all of us. Logan got his taken first (of course!). He loves to sit in the grass and "ham" it up. It was great because Logan was in a great mood although he liked looking at the birds flying rather than the camera.

Today consisted of lounging around, doing stuff around the house and then going over to my aunt and uncle's house for a BBQ. It was alot of fun since we were able to sit around and talk since we haven't done that in awhile (even though we live right NEXT door). My cousin Heather came down from Oregon which I haven't seen her since October! Logan was only a MONTH old! man how time flies!!

When it got dark enough we came back to our house (such a long trip ;) ) and did the fireworks...I have my own pyromaniac (he's the one in the gray shirt down below) and so he does all the lighting. It was so much fun! I LOVE 4th of July! Its my 3rd favorite holiday! I was a little worried about how Logan was going to handle the fireworks but with the help of earplugs he did just fine and halfway through he got bored!! Nothing scared him. I was amazed. I do have to say i am blessed.

HAPPY 4th of JULY!!
