Thanksgiving

This year we were home for Thanksgiving. If you recall (from my WAY earlier posts) we were in Arizona last year. Logan was only 2 months old then. This year he is 14 months old, walking, and determined to check EVERYTHING out that is new to him, but hey that's a toddler for you. This year we had two thanksgivings. We went to Gridley to the Quist (Herbie's Mom's family) Thanksgiving and then came back to my Aunt Marci's house next door to have Thanksgiving with my family. Here are pictures documenting our day.

11:30 on our way to Gridley. Always have to have his Grover with him.

While setting up and waiting to eat Logan was playing Basketball with Herbie.

Dinner was later than we thought so we had to occupy his time with fishies and gummy treats.

Herbie is holding Maylee (Mary--Herbie's Cousin--daughter). She is 6 months old and is so stinkin cute! Logan had a fit when I was holding her yet as you see below he was fascinated that she was in her high chair and he could see her and try to touch her face.

Logan fascinated at Maylee. She was interested in him too.

Oh my sweet boy. Thank you Michelle for taking this!

As sweet as this picture is Logan has found that there are time that if he "schmoozes" me with his smile that he could do what he wanted. This time was an exception though...He was hitting my face and laughing...Oh I wish he wasn't so cute!! ;)

He was ready to go home as you can tell (past nap time).

Gavin (Logan's 2nd cousin) came up to Logan and said hi. Logan was fascinated and loved seeing another boy almost his size.

We were leaving and he decided to play in the dirt. Oh well he was going to get changed when he got home anyway.

Logan was stuffed from the first meal so he decided to sit with Grandma so that I could eat!

His shirt reads "Who are you calling a Turkey?"

Drake, Travis, Michael, and Dane

Logan stacking blocks with Cousin Timmy

And knocking them down too...

Logan loved having the "big boys" around.
He was not happy when they had to leave...But he did tell them "Bye"!

Ending our night with a family picture...Thank you Deanne

It was time to go home...But not without cuddling first with Pap Pap.

We had such a great day and I am SO thankful for all the FAMILY we have. We know we are LOVED and I hope all of you have a great Thanksgiving too.

Oh the joys of walking...

Today we decided that since Herbie was home and we had time to "waste" we would go get pictures done for our "Christmas" photos...well with the joys of Logan being able to walk...he didn't want to cooperate...we didn't get any good family pictures but we got these two good ones of Logan.

I have come to realize...

I have come to realize that the life of being stationary is no more. Sure he was crawling but he couldn't go that fast. I have also come to realize that unless Logan is sitting down (for the split second that he is) I can't get a "face" shot. If i do it is usually blurry. I know some of you are probably nodding your head in agreement and thinking "I could have told her that" but as a self proclaimed "scrapbooker" it is hard to take over 40 pictures in a day and only a couple of them are looking at me.

I can and do look at it another way. Logan is just a curious curious boy. He's got his mother in him (God help him..). When we are outside or truly anywhere he wants to see where his new found freedom of walking will take him. He has gotten more stubborn since he has started walking but i know that is more in the whole "independence" thing and wanting boundaries...and believe me we give him both...

These are some of the pictures i took today. He had just gotten up from a nap and was loving to be outside. I think he could live outside and be content...well as long as Herbie and I, his crib, and his juice are outside too.

Oh the thrill of walking!

Blurry photo...I can't stop this kid!!

Go buddy go!

whew!! a picture with him looking at me...
well ok at least in my general direction..

No Bubba! That is MY hose sprayer!

again not paying attention to mommy.

When Karyn and I were at a local kids clothes convention thing I got him these pants, It came with a sweatshirt (not the one he is wearing) and i didn't even know it had "Oshkosh" on the bottom...I think he can pull that look off!

Welcome Bubba to our Family!

The wanting of a dog all started when our two dogs died suddenly a couple of years ago. When mom was ready to get another dog we found out i was pregnant with Logan and decided against it so that we can get used to just one new baby in the house instead of two. This past month my mom had been pondering about getting a new dog. We had a couple of leads but with not really knowing the backgrounds (especially with how they were with kids) we were unsure. Then Kathy, a wonderful woman at my mom's work, told my mom about Bubba. She already knew that mom would take him but she had to convince MOM of it! Today we went and got him. He is so mild mannered that when Logan plays with him it doesn't matter what Logan does to him. (thankfully...or we would have some big tears coming) He even loves to nap right near mom's feet. I am thankful for mom's new buddy or should i say Bubba. Here are some pictures i took today of Logan on our trip to Kathy's house. As you can see the rocks in her driveway were more interesting than a puppy.

Yes mom I CAN hold more than one rock in my hand.

Not really sure about whats going on.

More rocks to play with.

Do you see how the rock is wet? yes he was being a boy...tasting the rock...

He would put one down and go after another.

I love this picture showing him standing in his daddy's shadow
(and yes those are toilets behind him...they were filled with flowers)

A nice tooshie shot

Kathy saying goodbye

Bubba saying good bye to Reba (his mom)

Here Bubba! This is your toy.

He's so excited to have his own puppy to torture... j/k!

One giant step for Logan!

Friday night Logan was flirting around with walking and started doing a little bit over at mimi and pap pap's house and when dinner was done we tried again. He did his stand and squat and then stand again. He loved doing it because we clapped every time. Then as Herbie was taping it...mom and I were looking on he started walking!!! I (as you can see in the video) was ecstatic, more because herbie and mom got to see it!!!

Trick or Treat!!

October 2007 October 2008

I can't believe how much this child has grown in just a year. I took both these pictures in the same spot. in 2007 I just was trying to get him to look at the camera. This year it was getting him to look at the camera AND smile. I had to bribe him with cheerios....

This Halloween we started out the day by surprising my mom and aunt at their work with Logan in his costume. They were so thrilled to see him and he started crawling around and actually looking like a bear. We then went to visit my friend Nicole who also works in Colusa because she just loves Halloween.

Before going out and trick or treating he had a long nap and then we went over to Mimi and Pap pap's house to show them his costume.

Our trick or treating was done in the Luna's neighborhood in Sutter. It was a great night and wasn't that cold at all. We started with filling our tummies with chili dogs. They were very yummy! The above picture is what he likes to do when he goes to the Luna's because he can open the cupboards there.

Our Little Teddy Bear

He wasn't all too thrilled with dressing up again but he was
better after having some cheerios in his stroller.

Herbie, Tyler (as a regular person), Logan (Teddy Bear) and Robert (Grim Reaper)

Laurie and me. Laurie graciously let us tag along on their Trick or Treating.

He finally realized what we were doing and LOVED being able to push his own stroller and Herbie almost couldn't keep up!

We had forgotten to Trick or Treat at the Luna's so as corny as we are we decided to have Herbie be the one at the door as we said "Trick or Treat." Can you tell that Logan is looking not at Herbie but at the candy? He knew what he was doing.

His loot. He had a great time but it was time for bed. We had such a great time and luckily when we were leaving to come home it started raining so we got done just in time!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
