7 things I learned today.

What I learned today about this Walmart sticker:

1. Have a sweet smile on your face and you can get one.

2. It can be great entertainment for a 2 year old.

3. It works great at getting dirt off your forehead.

4. It works great at pulling out hair on top of your head (granted it
still must be sticky at this point).

5. It can become the eye patch for a pirate.

6. It can cure a case of the "I don't want to go take a nap"-itis.

7. and last but not least its free.

Why oh Why.....

This past week we were bombarded by the unfortunate germs of the Stomach Flu. Logan got it first on Wednesday.

We took him to the doctor and she confirmed it...He didn't throw up any more that day so we thought maybe we were out of the woods.

After putting him to bed on Thursday night and without going into any gross details I got it too. Then about midnight when it waved over me again, mom came in to see how I was doing and because she got up to fast and her nausea she fainted. Well that scared the you know what out of me and I screamed for Herbie. Looking back it was definitely an interesting night which came out with mom having the flu (and two broken toes from the fall), Herbie and I only having a couple hours sleep, and Logan actually feeling somewhat better.

Friday Herbie went to work and Mom and I just slept and watched many many (did I mention many?) of Logan's TV shows  and then on Saturday Herbie came down with it too, luckily not too many gross details from him. :) What a wonderful end to such a great week (well the beginning anyway--you can see the pictures below).

Short trip to Solvang, CA

On January 2nd until the 5th we took a trip down to Solvang, CA. You may be wondering where? why? --Solvang is located south of Pismo Beach and North of Santa Barbara. It is called the "Danish" capital of the United States. When you arrive there you can see why. I didn't take many pictures this trip (shocking I know), but we did take a quick day trip to the beach (which is only 30 min away) and spent most of the day there. My brother Chris and his fiance Marisa joined us there and then spent the night at the resort with us.

Although this was Logan's second time to the beach and the first time he loved getting in the water, he didn't want anything to do with the water this time... He did love building sand castle's with Herbie.

Chris and Marisa with Logan -- he had such a blast with them. He kept asking on the way down to Solvang "Uncle Chris WHERE ARE YOU??" , "Are we going to go see Uncle Chris?" and since it was an 8 hour drive....well we heard it ALOT!!

We had such a blast here. It was 70 degrees and sunny each day and no fog or ucky weather the whole time. I really wanted to stay.

Christmas 2009

This christmas was definitely different as Logan is one year older and one year wiser about all the hype of "presents" ... Santa was a little different. Last year he sat on Santas lap with no worries at all. This year he saw Santa at Wal-Mart and got scared....then Santa showed him the candy canes he had in his bag and Logan almost fell out of the cart trying to get to him. (Thanks Halloween for the fact that Logan will take candy from anyone....)

Every year the Sutter Fire Department goes around the area with Santa on a Fire Truck. This year was the first time they (that i remember) actually stopped and Santa got off the truck. Logan was extremely excited.

As he was running to Santa he kept saying "you got candy Santa you got CANDY!!!???"

Santa was wonderful and even let me take a picture of them together.

Christmas Morning: Logan loved getting into his stocking and seeing all the candy that Santa brought him...no it wasn't alot but he did get some :)

After we ate breakfast we got into opening presents. Logan is very meticulous about opening presents. While most kids will just rip into the present then go onto the next one, Logan has to take EVERY piece of paper off of the present before he even tries to realize what it is. You can ask him many times "what is it buddy??" and he won't answer the question until after all the paper is off.
