A Tender Heart....

Yesterday as we were lounging around on Labor Day, Logan was sitting with Herbie and watching TV. We were watching the ABC Family channel and a reoccurring commercial about abused and abandoned animals came on. I had mentioned to herbie how I don't like the commercial and all of a sudden big tears came from Logan and he just started crying deeply just like he does when he gets hurt. He was just sitting there with Herbie doing nothing or messing with anything that would hurt him. He started crying and we believe it came from the commercial. He loves his kitties and puppies (mimi and papap's puppies) and so i think seeing them distraught on the tv was just not what he wanted to see (i don't blame him) and he cried for a while after the commercial was done. I am amazed at how young he is and is already showing how tender of a heart he has....

update: i have a second interview today at 1:15pm for the teaching job. I am ecstatic and nervous all in one.

Hi Ho Hi Ho Its off to an Interview I go!!

Yesterday I plunged back into the work world. Well in a sense. I had an interview at a local school. I am hoping to get the job not only because of the paycheck but I like the school and what it has to offer me as a teacher (mainly the collaboration of the teachers). I find out this afternoon and like any life changing moments i have so many emotions going on. I want to be back in the classroom but i also want to be with logan. I have left it all up to God and what he is wanting for us. If I don't get the position I would be disappointed but I would look at it also like there is somewhere else i need to be (but wouldn't it be nice if there was an arrow pointing down from the heavens saying "here!" "here!" this is where you need to be!--Im not asking for much am i? :D )

So while i was in my interview Logan spent the hour with Karyn and Zack. He decided to try out wrestling. Zack thought it was funny and that Logan was going to tickle him. He definitely pinned him down! :D

Oh the teeth...

This week Logan is getting in his top two front teeth, because of this his sinuses are draining. We have had two interrupted nights of sleep and luckily the doses of tylenol, motrin, and benadryl have helped him. He is very active right now which is a good sign since yesterday he was very lethargic and would only sleep on Herbie. He would not sleep in his own bed until nighttime when he was drugged up (not really, only 1/2 tsp) on benadryl....He isn't coughing anymore but the nose is draining...as my mom said...welcome to parenthood!

Logan and Zack

Today i had to go into town so i decided to go visit Karyn at her house. Logan hasn't played with Zack in quite a while so here are some pictures of them playing together...

They had found some more coasters behind the chair and decided to play with them there..Although they were soon taken away from them because they thought it was fun to throw them at each other.

Zack was getting his diaper changed but had no problem checking out the camera.

Not wanting to be outdone Logan decided to join in the fun!

Alas it was time to go home...Logan needed a nap and the top teeth that are coming in were bothering him ALOT. But he did have a great time!!

Lead Anyone?

last month we had Logan's 9 month appointment. They had to do a pin prick on his finger to get some blood to test for lead..and something else that i don't remember. His lead levels were high (8 was his level and 48 is the danger zone). So we had to go home and figure out what it was. Lucky us. We think we pinpointed some toys that were the culprit and they are out of his hands now :D We went to the doctor today to get another pin prick of blood and his levels were now very low! whoo hoo! Our doctor was amazed that he didn't cry and that he had more of a rough time with the band aid being on his finger than anything else. Such a silly boy.

8 years ago.....

8 years ago (on the 12th) Herbie and I got married. To celebrate we decided (ok i tried to suprise but as most of you know i am horrible at keeping surprises) to go to Morton's Steakhouse for dinner since we had a coupon...unfortunately halfway through the meal we had a scare to the point of Herbie having to throw up. we didn't know if the seafood got in contact with the steak (herbie is allergic) or what it was until herbie came back and told me that the steak piece he had just eaten didn't go all the way down and all the soda he had drunk to help it go down ... well it came back up. I would like to commend the staff there though..they were absolutely wonderful and happy to help with anything. Below is a picture of last night. we also were blessed by my mom by getting a hotel room in sacramento so that we could have a night to ourselves. It was wonderful! Thank you mom!!

Last night i decided (after going to walmart and getting bowls that logan CAN'T turn over) to see how he would do about feeding himself...well i think i should get a little thicker of food for him to work with but these pictures will show the progression of being clean to being ready for a bath...

I started out showing him the food but some fell on his tray...he wanted to finger paint...

After having it all over his hands, face, hair, and his legs I decided to give him a bath...after i fed him the rest fast so that the food didn't go everywhere...

Ever since i was pregnant i have been waiting for this day...the day of curiosity. I was on the computer and i knew that Logan was in the kitchen banging the doors open and close....then came the loud sound of plastic banging on the ground. I turned around and this is what i saw...and being a "camera" or "scrapbooking" mom i HAD to take pictures!!

*my mom also says this is what I used to do when i was his age...so of course i had to take these...i know it won't be the last!!

he loved the idea of putting it on his head and then throwing it to the ground...

Ten Year Reunion

Its amazing...Ten years have gone by since I graduated High School. I can't believe it. I think im in denial. i mean Im ten years older and have i really accomplished all that i wanted to when i graduated? Well i wanted to get married....In 10 days it will be 8 years...so i accomplished that....I wanted to graduate college....I did that and even went on to get my teaching credential......i accomplished that.....I wanted to have kids....It took a few years (not by what i wanted but by what God wanted).....and we accomplished that....I even went to Hawaii....so i think ive done what ive wanted....but even though my "wants" have been accomplished i realize that i still have more wants....

i want to go to Austraila, i want more kids, i want to go see both a boston red sox game AND a patriots game during the same year, i want to take a cruise to alaska....and so much more....

its just interesting to look back on your past and see who really touched it and what you've lived through...here are pictures from tonite...there weren't that many people there and i learned some new things about people that was interesting to know especially since it didn't fit what they were like in high school and i guess that's what a reunion is REALLY for... :D

we also did some "questions" for prizes....like who traveled the farthest, who has the most kids, and who has been married the longest. I couldn't believe it but we won for who was married the longest. i know that there were people who got married before me but like most that i know -- they got divorced....i think its sad that in a group of 30 only 1 has been married for that long...although i do have to say Tina (see picture below) has been married for over 5 years also...i am so happy that i am still in love with herbie 8 years later like i was back then...although my love has grown into so much more....

This (minus a few) was my "group" or "clic" in high school...Candy (in the middle) was my rock when things were upside down and im so glad that we stayed friends



I met Candy in Freshman English...i can't remember who said hi first but we've been best friends ever since....I don't think we have fought once...wow...14 years and no fights? how did this happen? i think its because we are so different that we just balance each other out...
