No I didn't quit this blog....

I have just been busy! The past two months I have been focusing more on making canvases for Reflections of Joy then really taking pictures. Im sure most of you are shocked but its true. We have been busy and sick also. Logan got the stomach flu from something and then I have been dealing with a bout of bad allergies. Its been the stinkin weather with all its "ooh im going to rain, nope im going to be sunny, ha gotcha im going to rain again!" Then today I took this picture of Logan and realized that I need to get on this blog and update it!

Yes I know. His hair looks like Herbie's. It is his summer cut and like my mom says it makes him look older. It sadden me to cut it but he has thick hair and he was just getting hot.  Logan is (since my last post) more and more into reading. He is trying to sound out every word he sees. Most of the time he gets it right but there are times when the wonderful English language likes to throw curve balls at him.

He is still into golf and basketball and baseball but lately he's just been into sand. You see ever since going to the beach in January he loves the sand. We have a couple parks in YC that have sand pits but we don't go there often enough. So we decided to add onto his play area (and wonderful for us less area to mow) and build him a sandbox. its only 4'x8' but its perfect. We actaully found out that Herbie, I and Logan can sit in there comfortably and still have sand toys all around us :).

Well I must go finish dinner and I hope to update again soon!

Always a surprise....

Logan has always been a boy who loves to learn. He was able to identify his ABC's about April 2009 and could even tell you them in random order. A few months ago he started telling us and even asking us what sounds the letters make. Sure we have a love of learning, have a lot of toys that are "teaching toys" and truly would rather watch shows that teach Logan something then something that is absolutely mind numbing (i.e. Sponge Bob), but we are not ones to force anything on Logan (well other then the love of the New England Patriots), we just foster his love of learning.

We realized he was doing the sounds of the letters after he was playing with some of his leapfrog toys and his love of watching Word World (FYI its on PBS). Earlier today he watched a Word World that had the word ROCKET on it. I thought nothing of it since he was playing with his friend Zack and they were running around for most of it. Then tonite while we were watching T.V. Logan was playing with his puzzle and spelt out the word ROCKET as shown in the picture. He did need a little help in putting the R on the left as he's just starting to learn "left and right" but I was just wow'd to see him "building" this word. I love seeing the development of his mind and still can't believe he's only 2 1/2 years old.

His kindergarten teacher is going to have a run for her money....
