Our Arizona Trip January 2009

Our Arizona Trip January 2009

This post seems to have taken almost 2 months to post...i think mostly because of how many pictures i was uploading...and this post has given me the most trouble, but i perservered!

We decided that since we didn't have the money to fly this time we decided to drive. I keep forgetting how long the drive is and having a 1 year old makes it even longer but luckily on I-5 there are rest stops where we could get out and let him run around. We also had the blessing of getting a car dvd player from Marisa so we were able to entertain Logan with dvds of Elmo's World which is his new love...We got to Sahuarita Arizona at 8am Sunday morning which we were all so happy to be out of the car. Herbie and I had taken turns driving the whole way and also stopped a couple of times to sleep. I was excited because I drove from home all the way over the grapevine which i had never done before. I know it sounds silly but I felt it was a big accomplishment!

Here are pictures from the rest stop on the way down. My mom had bought him a ball for $1.00 at walmart and he thought it was the best thing in the world!!

Having Fun at Aunt Rae's

One of the days we were there we went up to Herbie's sister's house since i hadn't been there since they moved. We had alot of fun watching Uncle Blue operate his gas powered remote control cars. It was unseasonably cold for their area so i am glad we brought clothes to be bundled up.

Playing at the Park

Since it became a nice day we took Logan and his cousins to the park to play while Rae went grocery shopping (mostly for some peace while she shopped :D). It had a wonderful slide, swings, basketball court and this amazing "Safari Walk" with all these animal statues. He didn't like the statues or the swings but he did love the slide. He could go down all by himself.

TUCSON "REID PARK" ZOO

We had such a blast when we went to the zoo. School was going on so it was a very quiet day at the zoo. We saw all kinds of animals and here are the pictures from the trip. There are so many so i just put them together. i figure most of you have been to a zoo so i don't need to "note" them.

VISITING WITH GREAT GRANDMA MORTON

Grandma Morton is Herbie's last living grandparent. It is so special to be able to get to visit with her when we go to Arizona. Even though its a small visit we love seeing her.

He loves balls right now and when he saw these fragile ones that Grandma had i was so afraid he was going to break them but he was very gentle.

FISHY FISHY!!

Herbie was blowing bubbles with his gum and Logan was just fascinated by it.

HEADING HOME FROM ARIZONA
After leaving Grandma and Grandpa's house we headed towards L.A. Logan wasn't feeling too well and come to find out he got the stomach flu. I am so glad that we cut the trip in half by staying in our resort in Anaheim. We had to get out of the car part way through just so Logan could get his "wiggles" out.

MEETING WITH AUNTIE SNORT... (A.K.A. CANDY)

My friend Candy lives merely 5 miles away from our resort and so since we were there we decided to have breakfast with her before we headed home...Logan was feeling a little better and actually ate that morning.
